Life List – Things to Do Before I Die

In keeping with the sentiments expressed above, I am sharing with you my “Life List” of things I’d like to accomplish before I die. Some goals have already been completed – yea! This list is neither exhaustive nor static. Some goals are more ambitious than others and may take the rest of my life to complete. In fact, I hope I die with my list incomplete, because one should always have more adventures to look forward to in life!

Goals Yet To Be Accomplished:

• Celebrate my 50th birthday in Walt Disney World
• Visit Big Bend National Park with my kids and sleep out under the stars
• See an aurora borealis with my own eyes
• Attend the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in person
• Sing Handel’s Messiah in the chorus with Apollo’s Fire
• Go skiing in the Alps
• See the Tournament of Roses parade in person
• Sing the soprano solo in Handel’s Messiah
• View the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade live
• Get SCUBA diving certified
• SCUBA dive somewhere exotic, preferably with wild dolphins
• Solo with the Masterworks Chorale or Chamber Singers
• Travel to all 7 continents and all 50 states
• Ride in an untethered hot air balloon
• Go on a Disney cruise
• Go on safari in the Masai Mara
• Sing lead vocals in a small, for-hire group
• Take tap dance and ballet lessons
• Visit Mbita, Kenya
• Design and build a house or vacation cottage
• Send both my children to college
• Celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary
• Live to be 101 years old – with no dementia

• Take private flying lessons (Done – July 2011)
• Experience a flying trapeze (Done – July 2011)
• Learn to SCUBA dive (Done – June 2011)
• Swim with dolphins (Done – October 2009)
• Join the DAR (Done – June 2006)
• Become a CM Unit Leader (Done – June 2005)
• Own my own business (Done – March 2000)
• Have children (Done – 1999 & 2001)
• Return to Europe by the end of 1998 when my passport expired (Done – June 1998)
• Earn an MBA from Case Western (Done – May 1998)
• Direct a choir (Done – Sept. 1995)
• Marry the man of my dreams (Done – Oct. 1994)
• Travel to Europe (Done – Jan. 1989)
• Be admitted to William & Mary College in Virginia (Done – Fall 1988)
• Sing a solo (Done – Fall 1981)
